Position: Monitor/Aide
At First Student, our Monitors/Aides exemplify our dedication to safety and exceptional customer service. The Monitor/Aide plays a crucial role in ensuring operational oversight, managing daily activities, and assisting drivers in the safe execution of routes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Familiarize yourself with the route and remain vigilant to ensure the safety of passengers during transit
- Communicate any behavioral issues and conditions at various stops to the driver
- Assist in conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
- Aid students during the loading and unloading process
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with school staff, students, and parents
- Attend all safety and training meetings
- Facilitate emergency evacuations from the vehicle, including the use of emergency exits
- Operate service doors and navigate steps multiple times throughout the day
- Maintain cleanliness inside the vehicle
- Support the driver as needed to safely guide the vehicle in reverse
