Job Title: Resident Monitor

At The Salvation Army Central Territory, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Resident Monitor to join our team. As a key member of our Housing Services team, you will play a vital role in providing support and supervision to our clients in the Recovery Home.

Job Summary:

The Resident Monitor is responsible for ensuring the well-being and safety of our clients, while also maintaining a clean and comfortable living environment. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide basic care and supervision to clients in the Recovery Home
  • Assure that clients have the necessary supplies and resources
  • Reside on-site and be available for emergencies from 11PM to 8AM
  • Conduct monthly fire drills and enforce safety protocols as needed
  • Assist with meal preparation and service, including teaching clients how to pack lunches and clean up after meals
  • Provide Breathalyzer and Urinalysis testing as necessary
  • Complete all required documentation in client files, HMIS, and agency forms
  • Attend staff meetings and training as requested
  • Maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of the Recovery Home, reporting any maintenance or property concerns to management
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Two years' experience providing supportive services to a similar population preferred
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure in crisis situations
  • Ability to communicate positively and effectively with a diverse population
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of client information, including HIPAA requirements
  • Ability to provide consistency and structure for shelter program participants
  • Competent in the use of computer software and able to learn related software as required
  • Ability to work with clients who have poor social skills, mental illness, and substance use issues
Working Conditions:

The work environment for this position includes an office environment with a medium to high noise level. The Resident Monitor must be able to work with clients who have poor social skills, suffer from mental illness, and have substance use and mental health issues.
