Climbing Wall Monitor Job Description

Genesis Health Clubs is seeking a Climbing Wall Monitor to join our team at the Rock Road location.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure safety is maintained at the Climbing Wall at all times.
  • Engage in KIND conversations with members and guests who are unwilling to follow safety procedures.
  • Provide a warm welcome to members and guests in the climbing space.
  • Monitor members participating in climbing and ensure they are following safety procedures.
  • Visually inspect member's harnesses to ensure they are properly fitted and not showing any signs of potential failure.
  • Complete daily tasks as listed on the task sheet.
  • Inspect rental gear weekly and alert the supervisor if any gear appears compromised.
  • Monitor wall systems daily and report any issues or unusual wear to the supervisor.
  • Strive to build community at the climbing wall by putting members and guests first.
Requirements:
  • A variable schedule with the ability to work days, evenings, and weekends is required.
  • The position involves regular indoor work with handling of cleaning products and agents.
  • The role has inherent physical and mental stress, and candidates must be prepared and capable of adapting to such conditions.
  • Physical exertion is required, including standing, walking, lifting, handling, thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Candidates should be competent in climbing safety and willing to demonstrate it upon employment.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work is necessary.
