Cedarhurst Senior Living, a dedicated provider of care for older adults, is looking for a service-oriented, career-focused individual to join our team as a Dining Server.

In this role, you will have the chance to engage with our residents and make a meaningful difference in their daily lives by providing an exceptional dining experience for both residents and their families.

As a Dining Server, collaborating with the Dining Services Director, you will enhance the lives of our residents by:

  • Assisting with all catering, room service, and special event needs.
  • Taking food and beverage orders, serving residents and guests in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Maintaining a tidy work environment by helping to wash all cooking utensils and equipment used in meal preparation.
  • Clearing, sanitizing, and setting tables, managing waste disposal from the kitchen, and ensuring cleanliness in dining and kitchen areas by following a daily checklist.
  • Contributing to the cleanliness of dining spaces, including floors and furniture, after each meal and during special events, ensuring thorough cleaning at the end of shifts.
  • Understanding individual assignments and catering to the dining preferences of residents.
  • Assisting in managing food costs whenever feasible.
  • Following recipes and understanding food labels accurately.
  • Safely operating and maintaining all kitchen equipment.
  • Effectively communicating dining menu details to residents.
  • Ensuring table settings adhere to Cedarhurst's dining standards.
  • Staying informed about food safety regulations and ensuring compliance with all guidelines.
  • Maintaining safety protocols as outlined by Cedarhurst's infection control standards.
  • Applying basic math skills in practical situations.
  • Facilitating effective communication between community staff and residents' families regarding care and wellbeing.
  • Collaborating well with team members and taking direction from management, while also demonstrating initiative in conflict resolution.
  • Meeting the physical demands of the role, which may include standing, moving, and lifting up to 50 pounds independently, and up to 200 pounds with assistance.
  • Performing other assigned duties as necessary.
To qualify for the position of Dining Server, you will need:
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Applicable state or county licensure preferred.
  • CPR or BLS certification preferred.
