Essential Responsibilities

The Nutritional Services Manager ensures that meals are crafted in accordance with established menus and comply with all relevant Federal and State guidelines. Collaborates with a dietitian to design menus that utilize seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. May assist in meal service when necessary, manage inventory, maintain records and financial accounts, and develop employee schedules. Oversees kitchen staff and dietary aides. Engages in evaluating resident needs and contributing to their care planning.

Key Duties
  • Adhere to the organization's personnel, safety, and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Immediately report any witnessed or reported incidents of resident abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities.
  • Show respect and dignity towards residents, family members, visitors, and team members.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all resident and family information.
  • Arrive at work punctually and as scheduled.
  • Ensure that meals and snacks are prepared according to established menus, ensuring quality and presentation.
  • Guarantee that all meals are served to residents in accordance with physician directives.
  • Ensure that all necessary items for meal preparation are available to the dietary staff, maintaining adequate supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of kitchen equipment for dietary staff use.
  • Implement and uphold a weekly cleaning schedule.
  • Follow all infection control protocols during food preparation and storage.
  • Maintain accurate financial records for all assigned budgets and seek approval from management for any expenditures exceeding the budget.
  • Supervise dietary department personnel.
  • Participate in care plan meetings and adhere to the goals and strategies outlined in residents' care plans.
  • Monitor compliance with residents' rights among staff and personal conduct.
  • Ensure adherence to all State and Federal regulations, including those related to infection control, hazardous materials, and fire safety.
Physical and Job Requirements

  • CDM certification in good standing with the State is required.
  • Basic computer proficiency is necessary.
  • If driving is required for business purposes, compliance with the organization's Motor Vehicles policy is mandatory.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language is essential.
  • Willingness to work beyond standard hours, including weekends and holidays, when necessary.
  • Capability to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergencies.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Employees must use a transfer/gait belt or seek assistance from another employee when lifting or carrying objects exceeding 25 pounds. Awareness of potential body movements during routine job functions is important.
