Job Summary

Peterson Cat is seeking a skilled Utility Worker to join our team at our San Leandro, CA location. As a Utility Worker, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our equipment and yard, as well as performing light maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and prepare equipment for delivery, ensuring it is in good working condition.
  • Operate heavy equipment to transport equipment and components to and from Service Departments and display areas.
  • Organize and maintain the cleanliness of our Store Front and parking lots, ensuring a safe and professional work environment.
  • Load and unload heavy equipment and attachments from trucks, and maintain accurate records and bill of ladings.
  • Complete service reports, timecards, and other related paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Safely operate lift trucks, overhead cranes, hoists, power tools, and other shop equipment, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Assist the sales department by organizing work tools and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Participate in scheduled training classes and profit center meetings to stay up-to-date on company policies and procedures.
  • Wear required safety gear, including safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and company-provided overalls, at all times while on company premises.
  • Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance, and operate company or personal vehicles as needed.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school education or equivalent, and a minimum of one year of experience as a yard person or utility worker.
  • Experience in the safe operation of heavy and miscellaneous equipment, with a preference for experience operating a steam cleaning machine.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical work is preferred but not required.
