About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Repair Technician to join our team at our San Leandro, CA location. In this role, you'll be responsible for performing service activities in our main service shop, ensuring the highest level of quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to all safety procedures, laws, policies, and rules.
  • Communicating effectively with internal and external customers to promote a positive relationship.
  • Analyzing and diagnosing equipment malfunctions to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Performing pre-delivery setup and installation on various Caterpillar equipment and allied products.
  • Repairing, replacing, or rebuilding engines, transmissions, fuel systems, final drives, steering clutches, cross-shafts, hydraulic components, electrical, and air systems.
  • Writing service reports that accurately document activities and prepare required documentation, including work orders, parts lists, and timecards.
  • Working overtime as needed within labor law guidelines and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Operating company or personal vehicles as needed and maintaining punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • An Associate's Degree from a fully accredited college or technical/vocational school in Diesel Technology or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of directly related experience in heavy equipment service.
  • Membership in Local 3 of the Operating Engineers or a willingness to become a member as a condition of employment.
