Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced EHS Specialist to join our team at Carlex Glass Company. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Regular EHS Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of facility operations to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Document and Follow Up: Document inspections and follow up on corrective action items to ensure timely resolution.
  • Environmental Permit Management: Assist in managing environmental permits related to air, water, and waste, including permit requirements, control measures, and reporting responsibilities.
  • Economic and Ergonomic Assessments: Conduct economic and ergonomic assessments to identify areas for improvement and optimize workplace efficiency.
  • Risk Assessments and Analysis: Conduct risk assessments and analyze data to identify potential hazards and develop strategies for mitigation.
  • Sampling and Data Analysis: Conduct sampling and data analysis to support site environmental permits and regulatory obligations.
  • EHS Management System Development: Assist in the development, deployment, and management of the Carlex Environmental, Health & Safety Management System (EHS-MS).
  • Training and Development: Assist in providing training to team members on EHS policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Policy and Procedure Development: Assist in the preparation, maintenance, and updating of written safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Ergonomic and Risk Assessments: Strong background in ergonomic and risk assessments.
  • Environmental Permit Experience: Experience with environmental permits related to air, water, and waste.
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Advanced/Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Problem-Solving and Analysis: Hands-on approach to problem-solving and analysis.
  • Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with operators and lead teams.
