Job Summary

Depot Connect International (DCI) is seeking an experienced Environmental Waste Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing our hazardous waste programs and projects, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Environmental Strategies: Create and execute environmental waste strategies and policies throughout the organization, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Hazardous Waste Management: Oversee the internal and external shipment management and solid waste management practices for waste streams, including proper handling, storage, tracking, and disposal of all waste.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Monitor federal, state, and municipal regulatory changes to ensure future compliance and provide environmental expertise to internal teams.
  • Waste Management and Disposal: Prepare waste for shipment and disposal, including creation of all documents and managing the lifecycle of the documentation and tracking for the material.
  • Facility Inspections and Audits: Conduct waste inspections, safety equipment inspections, and other required facility permit inspections as needed.
  • Environmental Audits and Training: Participate in internal and external environmental audits and partner with operations/engineering personnel to ensure work practices and equipment changes are integrated, efficient, and effective.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide analysis and interpretations of environmental findings and prepare technical procedures and reports as required.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Environmental Emergency Response: Assist with environmental emergency response, including spill response measures, assessment, and cleanup efforts.
  • Company-Wide Permitting and Reporting: Assist with company-wide permitting and tier II reporting.
  • Other EHS Duties: Perform other EHS duties as requested.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Chemistry/Biology or equivalent.
  • Experience: 3-5 years' relevant work experience.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of US EPA Waste, Air, and Water regulatory requirements.
  • Chemistry Knowledge: Knowledge of Chemistry to develop disposal options for chemical waste.
  • Decision-Making and Problem-Solving: Ability to make decisions and solve problems with little assistance.
  • Communication and Customer Service: Strong customer service and communication skills are a must.
  • Attention to Detail and Organizational Skills: Must have strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Initiative and Independence: Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
