Job Title: Site Lead Operations EngineerJob Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Lead Operations Engineer to join our team at Anaergia. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our industrial process equipment at the Sterling Natural Resource Recovery Center.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and analyze daily unit production to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other technology resources to resolve problems beyond the scope of the Operating Engineering position.
  • Work closely with operations personnel to identify and resolve issues impacting operations.
  • Conduct formal Root Cause Analysis of events affecting plant production.
  • Assist in training operators to maximize the safety, quality, and productivity of the process.
  • Analyze work study data and equipment specifications to establish time and production standards.
  • Apply mathematical analysis to determine validity and reliability of sampling and work-study statistics.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures and training criteria for new and modified equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Coordinate efforts with engineering to design and install new equipment.
  • Aid in commissioning of new equipment, including writing procedures and training.
  • Generate various production reports at intervals for management and other company divisions.
  • Provide input into raw material inventory management, including RM specifications.
  • Design and perform unit process experiments to optimize operations.
  • Safety – Support safety and ensure the safety and health of self and workers, contractors and others who may be affected by activities at the facility, ensure compliance to Company's Health and Safety program, and fulfilling all legal, safety, and health requirements.
  • Compliance – Maintain an immaculate compliance record with all safety, regulatory and governmental.
  • Championing the company's policy framework – Support the development of the Company's Vision Statement and the Company's strategy defining the Standards and code to be practiced, providing resources and implementing HR practices, site security and monitoring, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Work Instruction (WI) around operations, maintenance, production, accounting, safety, environmental monitoring and reporting, documentation, and record keeping; Establish and implement facility policies, goals, objectives and procedures that are in line with the Company's Vision Statement and Strategy conferring with other management team members as appropriate.
  • Budget and Revenue – Provide support to meet the company's annual financial and commercial targets as set by the Managing Director. Meet the annual expected availability and profitability of the assets. Support reporting on monthly P&L and optimize profitability through operational and maintenance efficiencies and revenue enhancements that will result from market conditions.
  • Leadership - Abide by all internally established control systems and authorities; Lead by personal example and encourage all employees to conduct their activities in accordance with all applicable laws and the Company's standards and policies, including its safety and health and environmental.
  • Reporting – Effective reporting to help the Director of Plant Operations draw conclusions, make inferences, and elicit crucial.
  • Planning and Procedures – Develop sound planning, roles and responsibilities, procedures, and transparency in maintenance throughout the site.
  • Environmental – Coordination with Regulator and other government and non-government agencies and community stakeholders regarding environmental compliance as needed.
  • Communication - Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, employees, Government authorities and other stakeholders. This communication shall include the development, implementation and utilization of reports, presentations, the use of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), and use of best practices. Utilize interpersonal savvy to rally internal and external resources to meet goals, encourage coordination and cooperation throughout the site.
  • Report – Provide support to the Director of Plant Operations to ensure that the ERP and CMMS systems are kept up-to-date to track budget variance, inventory, sales report, monthly budget and cash flow forecast, safety and environmental compliance, departmental and individual long-term and short- term targets; Schedule coordination meetings to ensure progress, analysis and corrective actions are documented and tracked; Complete month end, quarterly and yearly reports.
  • Budget, Finance, and Cash-management - Control all service, maintenance, and contractor expenditures within control; Ensure optimal deployment of resources, maintenances of all assets; make confident recommendations and decisions to meet business needs.
  • Other - Work as assigned from time to time by the Director of Plant Operations.
Requirements:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Site Lead Operations Engineer with a strong background in industrial process equipment maintenance and operations. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and at least 10 years of relevant experience as a maintenance technician servicing and maintaining industrial plant process equipment.

The Operations Technician has the following skillsets:

  • Skilled in understanding customer support, mechanical equipment repairs, scheduling, technical drawings, documents, specifications, and use of CMMS (computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Ability to service and maintain equipment such as industrial engines, conveyors, pumps, hydraulic controls, regulators, valves, piping systems, chemical feed systems, screw feeders, compressors, electrical equipment, instrumentation, and similar equipment.
  • Have the ability and capability to read blueprints, technical manuals and engineering specifications to maintain and fix equipment. Identify the tools, and equipment necessary for repair and maintenance Identify parts and other materials required to maintain and fix equipment. Perform basic diagnostic testing of pumps, compressors, conveyors, screws and other large industrial machinery. Ability to check machine performance, dismantle machines, and remove parts for repair using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes or hoists. Test damaged parts in comparison to specifications. Replace the damaged and worn parts if necessary. Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work. Clean and lubricate machinery including changing oils when required. Basic pipefitting capabilities. Ability to maintain records of repair and maintenance work using CMMS system.
  • Travel may be required up to 5%.
  • Ability to utilize, implement and maintain a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for inventory control and maintenance.
  • Must successfully pass all training requirements including safety certifications and ability to wear a respirator and SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus).
  • Must have the ability to use Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
  • Highly motivated and engaged to achieve goals including safety, environmental, financial and operational.
  • Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma tools, Statistical Analysis, SPC Tools desirable
  • Ability to maintain and promote safe work site for self, employees, contractors, vendors, and any other visitors.
  • Ability to be deployed to support customers in compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to support Anaergia with all contractual agreements including utilities, suppliers, customers, and vendors.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and deploy maintenance practices that ensure optimal availability and reliability.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication
  • Ability to coordinate staff and contractor efforts to solve problems and optimize plant operations; plan and schedule individual workload without close supervision.
  • Strong analytical, decision making and initiative skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement best practices and work instructions utilizing vendor manuals, written and verbal instructions and industry best practices.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and engage/gain the respect of the hourly workforce.
  • Working knowledge of other engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to analyze data and write reports and create presentations.
  • Ability to administer company policies and procedures and maintain a strong culture of operational responsibility and safety.
