Position Overview

The Turnaround (TAR) Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing periodic maintenance and corrective activities across various facilities, ensuring optimal performance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to all company policies, including health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Promote a culture of safety by modeling safe practices and enforcing safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance teams to effectively communicate equipment lock-out schedules and safe work permits.
  • Optimize the Turnaround (TAR) Work Process for maximum efficiency.
  • Plan and staff TAR execution in coordination with Health, Environment, Safety, Engineering, and Operations teams.
  • Manage TAR execution to align with project deliverables, including scope, budget, and duration.
  • Address issues promptly to minimize operational impacts.
  • Report TAR status and concerns to the Maintenance Center Manager.
  • Encourage team engagement to align with TAR objectives.
  • Enforce the TAR scope change process post-project lockdown.
  • Ensure compliance with the Field Change Order process throughout TAR execution.
  • Coordinate with Field Sourcing Services to define work scope and resource needs for cost-effective service and material procurement.
  • Develop job plans and secure resources for unexpected work situations.
  • Ensure Maximo work orders are executed following specific job plan protocols.
  • Conduct daily progress meetings during TAR execution to update schedules.
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting on cost and schedule performance during TARs.
  • Ensure Maximo TAR work orders are detailed with observations and findings.
  • Drive job plan optimization by providing feedback to planners.
  • Facilitate post-TAR lessons learned sessions.
  • Manage TAR purchase orders and complete Maximo work orders efficiently.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree in a technical field or relevant training is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of maintenance experience.
  • Proficient in using CMMS (Maximo).
  • Experience in executing detailed mechanical and electrical job plans.
  • Skilled in Google Chrome applications, particularly Gmail, Sheets, and Drive.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project.
  • Strong planning and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills.
  • Able to multitask and prioritize during peak work periods.
  • Self-directed with sound decision-making capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time as required.
  • Must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. without the need for visa sponsorship.

Physical Requirements:

  • Full range of motion; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to climb ladders and work on elevated surfaces.
  • Capable of entering confined spaces for inspections while using safety equipment.
  • Physical capability to work at heights exceeding 50 feet.
  • Available for on-call duties as necessary.
