Job Summary

The Warehouse Manager, Purchasing Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and supply chain activities. This position is responsible for managing and coordinating all warehouse activities, operations, and staff to ensure conformance to established procedures and implementing practices that improve the effectiveness and financial performance of the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Warehouse Operations: Manage all warehouse activities in support of service and construction operations, including receiving, storing, picking, and shipping materials.
  • Process Improvement: Review, analyze, modify, and implement efficient and effective department processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Inventory Control: Maintain strict inventory control and ensure accurate and timely shipments and receipts.
  • Safety and Compliance: Enforce established safety guidelines and promote a safe workplace.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Maintain accurate records and metrics, perform audits as necessary, and provide inventory reports.
  • Purchasing and Procurement: Establish and maintain professional communication with vendors in alignment with SFS and Corporate practices.
  • Financial Management: Manage expenses within approved budget constraints.
  • Staff Supervision: Hire, train, supervise, motivate, and develop warehouse staff; manage schedules and workflow, as approved.
  • Quality Assurance: Assign duties and monitor quality of work; assure staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify, document, and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Experience: 3 years warehouse experience, required.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of Fire Life Safety equipment, material, and tools; highly preferred. 2 years supervisory experience, preferred. Forklift experience, and were necessary, current certifications and/or licenses.
  • Communication: Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate in English with employees and customers.
  • Systems and Software: Ability to operate a computer and use Microsoft Office with intermediate Excel skills required.
  • Other: Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required. Must be able to comply with SFS's Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement.
