Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Environmental Field Technician to join our team at LaBella Associates in Richmond, VA. As an Environmental Field Technician, you will be responsible for collecting and evaluating environmental data, performing groundwater, soil, and surface water sampling, and submitting samples to a laboratory for analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze environmental data, including groundwater, soil, and surface water samples.
  • Perform fieldwork, including sampling and monitoring activities.
  • Submit samples to a laboratory for analysis and evaluate results.
  • Manage and maintain environmental databases and spreadsheets.
  • Assist with report preparation and data analysis.
  • Document field activities and data through field data forms and logs.
  • Perform landfill gas monitoring and maintenance.
  • Identify concerns and make recommendations based on site conditions.
  • Ensure equipment operation and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
  • Monitor and maintain field supplies.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in environmental science, geology, chemistry, or applied sciences, or equivalent experience in environmental technical fields. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be a team player, and be able to relate well to project teams, clients, and contractors.

Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds, move safely over uneven terrain, traverse irregular and steep terrain, wear personal protective gear, and drive a passenger vehicle (truck).
