We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at The Van Munching Acute Rehabilitation Unit. This 17-bed unit is certified by the Joint Commission as a Stroke Center, and we specialize in improving the functional abilities of patients recovering from various medical conditions.
This part-time position involves working two night shifts per week, with rotating weekends and holidays. As a rehabilitation nurse, you will play a crucial role in helping patients with disabilities and chronic illnesses achieve optimal function and independence.
Your responsibilities will include coordinating patient care using the Nursing Process, supervising non-RN personnel, and acting as a resource for ancillary staff. You will also serve as a preceptor to new staff and students as needed.
To be successful in this role, you must possess a valid license as a Registered Nurse in Connecticut and a minimum of one year of nursing experience, preferably in med/surg or rehab nursing. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing and BLS certification are also required.
