Cedarhurst of Des Peres is a leading provider in the healthcare sector, dedicated to enhancing the lives of older adults. We are currently seeking a committed and service-oriented individual to join our team as a Housekeeper.

In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for our residents. Collaborating closely with the Environmental Services Director, you will ensure that all community areas are kept in pristine condition.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and managing laundry and waste disposal.
  • Adhering to a structured cleaning schedule for designated areas, including resident living spaces, communal areas, restrooms, and administrative offices.
  • Handling soiled linens in accordance with established health and safety protocols to ensure the wellbeing of our residents and staff.
  • Sorting, folding, and distributing clean laundry efficiently.
  • Communicating supply and equipment needs to your Supervisor and ensuring that necessary items are restocked.
  • Coordinating with maintenance staff to report any repairs needed during your shift.
  • Engaging effectively with community staff and residents' families to discuss care and support, focusing on their physical, personal, and emotional needs.
  • Collaborating with team members and following management guidance while also taking initiative to resolve conflicts as they arise.
  • Meeting the physical demands of the job, which may include standing, moving, communicating, and handling written information. The role may require lifting or moving items up to 50 pounds independently and up to 200 pounds with assistance.
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned to support the needs of residents and the community.

To qualify for the Housekeeper position, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in housekeeping is preferred.
  • A CPR or BLS certification is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in using Internet browsers (e.g., Explorer, Chrome, Firefox), Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Publisher, as well as electronic health records (EHR) systems.
