Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Direct Support Professional III to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As an Active Treatment Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and independence of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and organize leisure activities for individuals served, taking into account their age, interests, and goals.
• Monitor and ensure the quality of activities and services provided, making adjustments as needed to meet individual needs and preferences.
• Prepare and provide feedback reports to the Active Treatment Coordinator Supervisor on the monitoring of activities and services.
• Work closely with the Active Treatment Coordinator Supervisor and Recreation Program Manager to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
• Maintain inventory and order recreational supplies as needed.
• Develop imaginative and creative ideas to engage individuals in meaningful and functional activities.
• Monitor scheduled activities to ensure quality delivery of active treatment services.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including attending work on a regular basis and working a specific shift schedule or rotating schedule, extended shift, and/or overtime as needed.

Requirements:
• Ability to make decisions and use good judgment in critical incidents.
• Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations.
• Ability to demonstrate proper body mechanics, good posture, and proper lifting techniques.
• Knowledge of individual care techniques and treatment, therapy, and developmental programs.
• Ability to provide individual care, administer first aid and/or CPR, and conduct Safe Use of Restraint (SUR).
• Ability to communicate effectively and train/mentor/coach others.
• Ability to work effectively with others and as a member of a team.
