About the Position...

As we expand our operations, we are on the lookout for our inaugural Casualty Risk Assessment Specialist to support a new program initiative. The ideal candidate will be a proficient leader with expertise in casualty risk assessment, capable of managing projects and collaborating effectively within small teams. In this role, you will be tasked with:

  • Implementing a structured approach to evaluate complex wood product risks and determining their acceptability based on our company's risk appetite.
  • Utilizing various assessment tools to establish accurate classifications, rates, and premium structures.
  • Adhering to underwriting guidelines and ensuring compliance with relevant insurance regulations.
  • Overseeing internal reporting and managing the portfolio effectively.
  • Expanding a portfolio of renewal and new business through proactive engagement.
  • Working closely with internal teams to cultivate positive relationships with carrier and broker partners.
  • Keeping informed about industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes affecting the forest sector, and adjusting strategies as necessary.
  • Exhibiting a strong desire to learn and share knowledge, collaborating with colleagues, and adapting to the evolving insurance landscape.
