Job Description

The Arena Stage is looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual to join its team as Director of Production. This is a dynamic role that requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of theatrical production principles.


Main Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Production Department, ensuring efficient execution of artistic vision and logistical planning.
  • Manage the department's budget, developing and implementing strategies to optimize resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with directors, designers, and production staff to ensure seamless production processes.
  • Develop and implement creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Manage the hiring and supervision of contract production staff and oversee the production payroll.
  • Work closely with the Senior Staff to plan and schedule each season and develop long-term strategic plans.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • A minimum of five years of experience in production management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with MS Office and scheduling software.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year, based on experience.
