Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Statutory Accounting Manager to join our Finance team at SteadPoint Insurance. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in managing our Insurance Company's monthly and quarterly closing, preparation of monthly financial statements, and preparation of quarterly and annual statutory filings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete requisite workpapers and journal entries necessary for month end close.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of monthly financial statements.
  • Prepare Quarterly and Annual Statutory filings.
  • Complete quarterly premium tax filings.
  • Ensure compliance with the law and company's policies.
  • Prepare reliable current and forecasting reports.
  • Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization's operations.
  • Serve as a resource to the staff responsible for monthly accounting.
  • Serve as a resource to the staff responsible for financial reporting of Managing Agencies.
  • Manage vendor relationships.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Controller or Senior Accountant.
  • Extensive knowledge of Statutory Accounting.
  • Experience with preparing Quarterly and Annual Statutory Filings.
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
  • Accounting or finance degree with a minimum of 3-5 years' experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to strategize and solve problems.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA and/or CPA are considered a plus.
  • Management Experience.
  • Experience with regulatory bodies, specifically the Department of Insurance.
