Our group employs over 2,000 FTE employees and operates nationally across Australia, with recent expansion into the USA through the acquisition of Glen-Gery Corporation.
Glen-Gery Corporation has been a major player in the masonry industry since its founding in 1890, operating eight brick manufacturing facilities and selling products nationally through a network of over 500 distributors as well as in Canada. Our North American business has grown significantly since entering the USA in 2018, with the acquisition of Sioux City Brick, Redland Brick, and the distribution business of Southfield Corporation in Illinois and Indiana.
Job Summary:
The Architectural Sales Representative will serve as a key ambassador for Brickworks and Glen-Gery Masonry Supply Center, maintaining strong relationships with existing customers and targeting new business opportunities. This role will play a critical part in increasing sales revenue and profits by developing rapport and selling all our lines of masonry and ancillary products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and Maintain Customer Relationships: Develop long-lasting business relationships with designers, architects, builders, general contractors, and masons within the home builder community.
- Drive Sales Growth: Strategically place products to drive sales and consistently achieve sales account prospecting and development.
- Product Education and Awareness: Educate and inform customers on all Glen Gery masonry and cladding product offerings, including new product launches, hands-on demonstrations, and estimating support.
- Quote and Order Management: Write sales opportunities, quotes, and orders, and coordinate with purchasing, customer service, dispatch, yard staff, and other Glen Gery employees throughout the sales process.
- Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicate with manufacturer reps and plants on products and orders, and work closely with the management team to meet sales goals, quotas, and deliverables.
- Industry Knowledge and Trends: Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments, and provide feedback to the management team.
Requirements:
- Effective Communication and Presentation Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with customers, colleagues, and management.
- Proven Sales Experience: Proven success in sales, with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Windows, and CRM software, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.
- Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience in sales and masonry product knowledge, preferably in the building products industry.
