Job OverviewPosition Summary: The Senior Systems Architect plays a crucial role within our Operations division, delivering robust data center (private/cloud) and systems support for our Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings, which include Microsoft Windows, VMware, and hybrid Storage Area Network (SAN) infrastructures. Candidates should demonstrate exceptional troubleshooting and analytical capabilities, along with experience in disaster recovery and business continuity planning, execution, and implementation.

This role is integral to the company's objectives, collaborating with various teams to design, engineer, build, implement, and support comprehensive solutions for remote clients. A profound understanding of Cisco's Unified Computing System (UCS) and Microsoft's Hyper-V virtual environments is vital for success in this position. Familiarity with Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) and Wireshark is also essential.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong desire to learn and grow within a rapidly expanding and highly technical engineering team. Additionally, responsibilities will include providing support for Microsoft SQL 2019, MS Server, and SharePoint 2016.

Key Responsibilities:

Systems Administration:
  • Oversee and maintain both Linux and Windows servers, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
  • Conduct system monitoring to verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes across both operating systems.
  • Document and illustrate infrastructure designs, processes, server configurations, and data flows.
  • Administer Windows Server 2019 and later versions, including Windows Failover Clustering.
  • Manage multiple IIS web farms across various data centers and cloud environments.
  • Handle administration and management of Windows File/Print servers.
  • Administer FTP/SFTP (Serv-U) services.
  • Develop and implement PowerShell scripts to automate tasks (experience preferred).
  • Establish and uphold security best practices and compliance standards.
  • Install, administer, and troubleshoot Cisco UCS and Dell PowerEdge hardware in diverse data center locations.
Active Directory Management:
  • Administer and manage Windows Active Directory.
  • Oversee Active Directory DNS and Group Policies.
  • Manage Active Directory Users and Security Groups.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices and compliance standards.
VMware Management:
  • Administer and maintain all VMware vCenters across multiple data centers.
  • Manage and maintain all VMware vSphere ESXi hosts in various data centers.
  • Conduct disaster recovery testing and implementation.
  • Install, administer, and troubleshoot Cisco UCS and Dell PowerEdge hardware in diverse data center locations.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices and compliance standards.
Cloud Infrastructure Management:
  • Act as a cloud engineer for the management and administration of cloud-hosted services and servers across AWS/Azure/Google Cloud platforms, ensuring cost-effective and efficient resource utilization.
  • Implement and maintain cloud security best practices and compliance standards.
Storage Management:
  • Oversee and maintain Pure and Nimble storage arrays.
  • Configure zones in SAN switches.
Project Management:
  • Lead and coordinate IT projects from planning through deployment, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables while maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in managing geographically dispersed multi-datacenter and multi-cloud environments (AWS/Azure/Google).
  • Proven expertise in managing Windows Active Directory and Windows Failover Clustering.
  • Experience with managing IIS Web farms in complex, multi-datacenter and cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server 2019+ and Always On configurations is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in administering F5 Load Balancers.
  • Skilled in documenting and diagramming IT systems.
  • Experience with backup solutions such as CommVault, Rubrik, or similar tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Visio.
  • Experienced in engineering, deploying, troubleshooting, and supporting cloud solutions.
Education and Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, MIS, CS, or a related field, or equivalent experience of 8 years or more.
  • Strong customer service orientation, prioritizing customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Certifications in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud are preferred.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and teamwork.
  • Strong critical thinking, observation, and reasoning skills.
Additional Requirements:
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for system outages.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform daily health checks to ensure storage systems are operational and healthy.
  • Lead and coordinate troubleshooting efforts as needed; resolve and close tickets in accordance with SLAs.
  • Ensure system resources are updated with the latest software versions, security updates, and hotfixes.
  • Cross-train and mentor other engineers to enhance team performance.
  • Participate in on-call rotation duties.
  • Conduct after-hours maintenance and troubleshooting as required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
