Position Overview:
The Linux/UNIX Systems Administrator will be responsible for supporting critical operations at Conceras. This role entails the management and upkeep of Linux/UNIX systems, ensuring optimal security, performance, and adherence to industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of RedHat and Solaris systems, coupled with advanced troubleshooting capabilities, and will thrive in a collaborative team setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • System Management: Oversee RedHat 7.x and Solaris 10 and above, including installation, configuration, performance optimization, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Problem Solving: Conduct complex issue resolution and root cause analysis for both on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Proactive Oversight: Implement proactive space and growth management, high availability (HA) enhancements, backup and recovery strategies, and clustering solutions.
  • Technical Assessment: Review vendor submissions for compliance with technical requirements and evaluate service-level agreements for IT infrastructure.
  • Documentation and Mentorship: Create detailed documentation of procedures and installations and act as a subject matter expert (SME) to train support staff.
  • Project Leadership: Spearhead large-scale initiatives such as data migrations, physical-to-virtual (P2V) server transitions, and Solaris to RedHat upgrades.
  • User and File Administration: Manage user accounts and groups, perform file and directory operations, and configure file systems and permissions.
  • Security and Compliance: Address cybersecurity compliance challenges, complete STIG checklists, and maintain documentation for hardware inventory and remediation efforts.
  • Automation and Scripting: Employ shell scripting (Bash, C, Korn, Python) and manage automation tools like Ansible and RedHat Satellite servers.
  • Containerization Support: Provide assistance with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher.
  • Interoperability and Integration: Execute RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) interoperability and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges.
  • On-Call Support: Provide emergency on-call support within one hour, offering both remote and on-site assistance as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: At least five (5) years of experience in a Linux/UNIX administration role.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Required Certifications:
    • IAT Level 2 Certification: (One of the following required: CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)

Work Environment:
The Linux/UNIX Systems Administrator will primarily operate within a secured government facility, necessitating strict adherence to security protocols and potentially involving on-call support for mission-critical IT system issues outside of standard working hours.
