Position Overview

Role Summary: As a Senior Application Security Specialist at Geographic Solutions Inc, you will work closely with the Chief Information Security Officer to safeguard our organization's data in alignment with established policies and objectives. Your responsibilities will include assisting the application security team lead with documentation, risk assessment, and compliance to fulfill audit obligations.

In this role, you will be instrumental in detecting and resolving security vulnerabilities, managing potential threats, and ensuring compliance with company standards. Your knowledge will be a key asset to the Information Security Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expertise in employing various cybersecurity tools such as Crowdstrike, Cisco FTD, Palo Alto, Qualys, among others
  • Thorough understanding of vulnerability exploitation in accordance with OWASP's top 10 standards
  • Experience in evaluating Internet infrastructure and web applications for security vulnerabilities
  • Development of new tools and documentation for security and network operations
  • Proficiency in both static and dynamic scanning techniques
  • Capability to analyze network traffic to detect malicious activities
  • Management of intrusion detection systems and security services
  • Collaboration with third-party vendors to assess security services
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced SaaS environment

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations such as ISO, FISMA, NIST, GLBA, and PCI
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server
  • Understanding of agile and waterfall development methodologies
  • Experience in auditing IT controls, network infrastructure, and information security
  • Active involvement in risk assessments, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
  • Consulting experience in Information Security and TCP/IP Networking
  • Engagement in security compliance initiatives and penetration testing
  • Support for incident response related to security concerns

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Database Environments and Operating Systems
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, OSCP, CEH, Security+, Network+
  • Experience in managing small tactical teams and cloud security solutions
  • Designing and implementing security solutions

  • May participate in various projects as required
  • Day shift role with potential for evening and weekend hours
