Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Cytogenetic Scientist to join our team at Loma Linda Univ Medical Center. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing and interpreting complex tests, reporting results, and ensuring the highest level of quality and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and interpret moderate and high complexity tests, including cytogenetics and molecular cytogenetics
  • Report test results accurately and in a timely manner
  • Monitor pending lists and meet or exceed turn-around time goals
  • Perform instrument and equipment calibration, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Serve as a preceptor and mentor to students, residents, and staff
  • Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Biological or Clinical Laboratory Science
  • Master's Degree in Genetics or Biological Sciences preferred
  • Minimum four years of experience as a cytogeneticist in a laboratory
  • Five years experience preferred
  • Current State of California Clinical Cytogeneticist Scientist license or Clinical Laboratory Scientist license required
Skills and Qualifications
  • Expertise in all aspects of cytogenetics and molecular cytogenetics
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards
  • Ability to independently solve problems and make sound judgments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work calmly and respond courteously under pressure
