About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer II to join our EC2 Edge Frontier team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading feature development work, participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle, and providing feedback and technical guidance to team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead feature development work on a team
  • Participate and collaborate through all phases of the software development lifecycle (including test, debug, code reviews, design)
  • Operational responsibility for the services we own and develop
  • Provide feedback and technical guidance to team members

A Day in the Life:

As a Software Development Engineer II on our EC2 Edge Frontier team, you will spend your days writing code in a variety of languages and technologies, from AWS Lambda to scripting languages on bare metal where necessary. You will also participate in standups, retrospectives, code reviews, design reviews, and operational retrospectives.

About the Team:

Our team is focused on the ordering, billing, and installation lifecycle of the Outposts family of products. We have an enthusiastic and supportive team that enjoys working on the product we build. This team gets a very unique view of our customers and product as we follow an Outpost from order, through setup to decommission.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
