Position Summary:

The Funding Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the funding and distribution of all refinance and purchase transactions. This position requires effective communication with various stakeholders to ensure that files are balanced and funds are disbursed promptly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address inquiries from customers and clients via phone, fax, or email in a timely and professional manner.
  • Examine funding documents and recording paperwork for accuracy.
  • Gather necessary information from processors regarding invoices and payee details.
  • Prepare checks, wires, and transfers according to the ledger, closing instructions, and final signed Closing Disclosure.
  • Upon confirmation of recording, release all funds related to the transaction, including mailing checks or preparing them for pickup.
  • Complete file closures in the designated system.
  • Resolve post-closing funding issues, including refunds of excess funds and returned tax checks.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in title funding, loan processing, or similar roles within the mortgage sector is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the capability to interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
