Position Overview

The role of Training Specialist III involves a comprehensive analysis and identification of technical training requirements. This position is responsible for implementing structured plans, procedures, and programs tailored to specific groups to address their training needs and challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and ensure the consistent application of training standards across the organization.
  • Design, assess, and develop training curricula and materials to effectively meet identified training objectives.
  • Oversee or facilitate specialized training sessions aimed at selected groups within the organization, including the introduction of new training programs.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of training initiatives by analyzing learner satisfaction, proficiency assessments, and job performance metrics.
  • Implement enhancements or modifications to training programs to boost their overall effectiveness.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to trainers, offering leadership and technical direction for project teams.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in relevant technical domains, including the acquisition of new clients and expansion of services with existing clients.
  • Deliver technical training to government personnel and contractors, supporting both current and emerging prototyping capabilities.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in developing lesson plans and on-the-job training materials.
  • Proven experience in delivering formal training courses and classes focused on Information Technology (IT) Systems.
  • Demonstrated capability in providing on-the-job training.
  • Experience in conducting instructional periods on both existing and newly developed systems.
  • Must possess a current Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
  • Strong analytical and research skills are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are required.
  • Familiarity with Individual Training Standards is preferred.
Preferred Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is advantageous.
  • Prior active-duty military experience is a plus.
  • Instructor certifications such as CTT, Military Instructor Certification, or Formal School Instructors Course are desirable.
  • Ten years of experience supporting Department of Defense or Naval Surface Warfare Center Programs is preferred.
  • Experience in curriculum development for DoD Program of Record systems is highly valued.
  • Proven experience in providing on-the-job training for DoD Program of Record Systems.
  • Experience in creating formal training courses for DoD projects and Program of Record Systems is beneficial.
  • A thorough understanding of NSWC operations is a significant advantage.

Note: This position requires U.S. citizenship and a government security clearance at the Secret level.
