Number of hospitalist beds/census: patients

The facility operates a closed Intensive Care Unit.

  1. The hospitalist will manage the clinical care of acutely ill hospitalized patients, which includes:
  2. Admitting adult patients requiring hospitalization for medical conditions.
  3. Providing thorough and prompt attention to all patient care needs, including diagnosis, treatment, and medical procedures within their practice scope.
  4. Collaborating and communicating effectively with physicians from various specialties and healthcare staff involved in patient care.
  5. Conducting inpatient medicine consultations and managing post-operative care for other specialties.
  6. Implementing quality improvement initiatives.
  7. Overseeing discharge planning and facilitating patient discharges.
  8. Ensuring safe transitions of care within the hospital and to community settings, including oversight of post-acute care facilities.
  9. Utilizing healthcare resources efficiently.
  10. Training and supervising medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals.
  11. Responding to and managing Rapid Responses or Codes as necessary.
  12. Assessing patients and developing appropriate care plans for acute events or changes in condition.
  13. Coordinating with nursing staff and addressing any questions or concerns.
  14. Providing thorough hand-off communications at the end of shifts to the incoming team.
  15. Identifying patients needing transfer to tertiary care facilities and coordinating with appropriate services.
