Position Overview

The Gastroenterology - High Point Practice is in search of a BC/BE GI Hospitalist Physician to enhance their expanding practice. This role involves providing inpatient consultations and procedures, overseeing GI Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) during their inpatient duties, and collaborating with colleagues to execute hospital-based outpatient procedures.

KEY FEATURES:

  • 46 weeks of daytime coverage from Monday to Friday at High Point Medical Center, complemented by 6 weeks of paid time off.
  • A collaborative team consisting of 4 physicians and 3 APPs.
  • Operational hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Focus on consultative services with Hospitalist managing all admissions.
  • Oversight of GI APPs during their inpatient responsibilities.
  • APPs are responsible for consults and follow-ups.
  • Collaboration with partners for hospital-based outpatient procedures.
  • Access to dedicated endoscopy facilities equipped with advanced technology for General GI and ERCP.
  • Opportunities for collaboration with colleagues throughout the health system.
  • Adjunct faculty appointment available or preferred.
  • Negotiable night and weekend call schedule at a ratio of 1:5, with APPs covering Saturday and Sunday mornings.
  • Compensation package includes salary plus incentives.

ROLE SUMMARY:

Physicians in this role are dedicated to patient care across various domains, addressing chronic conditions and offering guidance on preventive health measures. While specialties may differ, the core responsibility remains the diagnosis and treatment of injuries and illnesses. This is achieved through comprehensive physical examinations, medical history assessments, diagnostic test interpretations, and the formulation of treatment plans.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MD/DO, Board Certified/Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
  • Proven track record of clinical excellence and service quality.
  • Possession of an unrestricted medical license in North Carolina or eligibility for one.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain medical staff privileges at High Point Medical Center.
  • Certification in BCLS and ACLS is required if stress tests are performed or as dictated by specialty.
  • Current registration with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) for prescription writing is mandatory.
