Atrium Health is looking for outstanding, board-eligible or board-certified Hospitalists to become part of our growing team.
- Qualifications: MD or DO required
- Completion of a three-year Internal Medicine Residency is mandatory
- Must possess or be eligible for North Carolina medical licensure
- Selected candidates will hold adjunct clinical faculty positions at a prominent medical school

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the clinical care of hospitalized adult patients with acute medical conditions.
- Provide thorough and timely attention to patient care needs, including diagnosis and treatment.
- Collaborate effectively with specialists and healthcare teams involved in patient care.
- Conduct inpatient consultations and provide post-operative care across various specialties.
- Implement quality improvement initiatives in clinical practice.
- Oversee discharge planning and ensure safe transitions of care.
- Utilize healthcare resources efficiently to optimize patient outcomes.
- Mentor and supervise medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals.
- Respond to urgent medical situations and manage codes as necessary.
- Evaluate patients and develop appropriate management plans for acute changes in condition.
- Coordinate with nursing staff to address patient concerns and questions.
- Ensure effective communication during hand-offs at shift changes.
- Identify patients requiring transfer to specialized facilities and facilitate the process.
