Position Overview:


The Substance Use Counselor is tasked with delivering clinical services related to substance use, which encompasses individual and group counseling, as well as case management for an assigned patient group.

This role involves ensuring that all clinical care protocols, standards, and regulations are adhered to in the provision of care to patients assigned, in accordance with program, organizational, state, and federal guidelines.


Key Responsibilities:


Demonstrates the necessary education, training, knowledge, and practical experience in providing individual and group counseling services for substance use disorders to the designated patient group.

Facilitates 3-hour Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) group sessions three times a week for the assigned caseload.

Conducts individual counseling sessions on a weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly basis.

Performs intake assessments and utilization reviews.

Ensures adherence to all documentation standards and care delivery protocols.

Participates in both individual and group counseling supervision.

Qualifications:
Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (Required)

Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (Required)

Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in Arts or Science (Required)

Preferred Education Specialization:
Higher degree in Psychology, Social Work, Social/Human Services, or a related field

Equivalent Experience:

  • A minimum of 1 year of direct counseling experience with substance use populations.
Master's degree in Arts or Science

Preferred Education Specialization:
