Salary Information

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This figure includes a comprehensive package of benefits, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) eligibility.


Job Description

This Senior Scientist II position plays a pivotal role in advancing AbbVie's therapeutic pipeline by designing and implementing advanced high-throughput technologies for antibody production and characterization.

You will drive the engineering of innovative solutions that optimize biologics workflows and assays, mentor junior scientists, and engage with internal and external scientific leaders to enhance collaborative research efforts.

This role requires exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and ensure timely and effective delivery.


Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Educational background in biological engineering or a related field with typically 12+ years (BS), 10+ years (MS), or 4+ years (PhD) of relevant experience.
  • Expert knowledge of broad laboratory procedures for antibody discovery and exceptional experimental design capabilities.
  • Proficiency in executing and developing mammalian cell culture, transfection, and purification workflows.
  • Experience in optimizing liquid handling workflows using technologies such as Hamilton, Lynx, or Tecan.
  • Experience with optimization of workflows and assays using statistical analysis (DOE, JMP).
  • Programming skills in languages like Python or C# are highly valued.
  • A background in basic mechanical engineering and prototyping is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects.
  • A collaborative spirit with a keen ability to engage with diverse scientific teams.
