Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer within the US Risk Technology division, you will act as a technological ally for the US risk management team. You will engage in complex initiatives, including the migration of ETL processes from Talend to DataBricks, developing workflow automation solutions utilizing Microsoft Power Platform, and managing data flows with Azure data lake storage, alongside setting up a DevOps environment. This position provides a comprehensive view of the software development life cycle, encompassing development, testing, and support.

This role operates in a hybrid model, requiring in-office attendance at least two days per week.

Success Factors

  • Technical Expertise – Bridge the gap between business challenges and technological solutions with a cloud-centric approach, employing tools such as SQL, DataBricks, Talend, Python, Microsoft Power Platform, and Azure Data Factory.
  • Cloud Proficiency – Leverage the full spectrum of Microsoft Azure Services, with exposure to machine learning concepts. Azure Certifications (AZ-204) are advantageous.
  • Documentation Skills – Effectively document each phase of the software delivery process using our wiki and change management tool, ServiceNow.
  • DevSecOps Knowledge – Develop secure code adhering to industry best practices and integrate DevSecOps principles into your workflow.
  • Communication Skills – Articulate technical concepts clearly and concisely to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborative Spirit – Foster trustworthy relationships with business partners, technology collaborators, and external vendors.
  • Business Acumen – Utilize your understanding of banking and risk management to align business goals with software specifications.
  • Commitment to Learning – Stay informed about emerging technologies, shifts in the banking sector, and regulatory changes.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience – A minimum of two years in a technical capacity, supported by a relevant post-secondary degree. Experience with databases, cloud computing, or application development/support is particularly relevant.
  • Programming Skills – Proficient in Python, with the ability to write scripts, test, and deploy code.
  • SQL Proficiency – Comfortable crafting SQL queries and familiar with another programming language. Experience with Microsoft Azure and Power Platform is beneficial.
  • Additional Skills – Familiarity with DataBricks, automated testing, JIRA, ServiceNow, Git, and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
  • Banking Knowledge – Understanding of banking fundamentals, particularly in risk management, capital stress testing, credit risk models, and regulatory compliance, is advantageous.
