New hires will be set at $21.50 per hour. The salary range for internal candidates is $21.50 to $26.12 per hour.

Essential Functions and Objectives:

  • The Secondary Special Education support professional assists in addressing the educational, behavioral, social-emotional, physical, and daily living requirements of middle and high school students with disabilities in integrated, resource, self-contained, and community environments.
  • Aids in conducting assessments, multimedia activities, recordkeeping, computer operation, discipline, and other related tasks.
  • May assist with the lifting and transportation of students, as well as daily living activities such as toileting, diapering, feeding, and personal hygiene as trained and directed.
Knowledge, Experience, & Other Qualifications:

  • Some roles may necessitate the transportation of students, requiring a valid Colorado driver's license, auto insurance, and a clean driving record.
  • Provides instruction and services in a self-contained classroom for students needing additional time for specialized instruction.
  • This may encompass teaching general academics, functional academics, behavioral skills, social skills, and daily living skills. Collaborates with general education staff to ensure successful inclusion of students.
  • Must possess the ability, with or without accommodations, to meet the physical demands of the position. For Special Education positions, physical demands are outlined in the relevant guidelines.
