Rocky Mountain Prep is an expanding network of forward-thinking public charter schools, dedicated to serving students and families in the Greater Denver Area.
Since its inception, Rocky Mountain Prep has grown from a single school with 130 students to a robust network of twelve schools, currently supporting over 5,000 scholars from PreK through 12th grade across two districts.

In This Role, You Will...
As a Special Education Support Specialist, you will be accountable for contributing to these objectives. Your responsibilities will include:
If selected for this position, you will be considered for two program areas:
- Mild/Moderate Support
In this capacity, you will provide one-on-one assistance to scholars who require support in navigating the school environment. This includes aiding in general education classes and special education small groups, focusing on curriculum access, student engagement, and behavioral support. You will collaborate closely with a mild/moderate case manager to enhance daily instruction and support.
OR
- Center-Based Support (Autism Center)
In this role, you will assist scholars within the special education classroom and general education settings as outlined by their Individualized Education Program (IEP). You will work under the guidance of the Lead Teacher of the center-based program, providing support in daily instruction, health-related needs, recreational activities, behavioral management, and other tasks as assigned.
Role Mission
Special Education Support Specialists are dedicated to facilitating data-driven instruction that leads to exceptional academic outcomes while fostering meaningful relationships with each scholar.
Through ongoing feedback and collaboration with a lead teacher, you will help drive student goals by supporting them individually, in small groups, or through facilitating activities that enhance their sensory, motor, life, and social-emotional skills.
Special Education Teachers at Rocky Mountain Prep partner with their Support Specialists to ensure all students are on track to meet our key objectives.
In this role, you will:
- Assist students with significant needs in developing independence in daily living skills.
- Instruct small and large groups in academics, sensory skills, arts, financial literacy, domestic skills, and recreational activities.
- Supervise and support in various settings including classrooms, physical education classes, clinics, lunchrooms, playgrounds, and during transportation.
- Monitor and maintain required documentation; oversee behavior; implement behavior intervention plans.
- Assist with feeding and supervise meal times, including spoon-feeding and tube feeding as necessary.
- Carry out occupational or physical therapy activities as directed; perform assigned medical tasks.
Qualifications
Required:
- Proof of high school completion or GED.
- Successful completion of a background check.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
Preferred:
- Experience working with students with disabilities.
- Background in working with elementary school students and diverse populations.
- Training in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI).

Salary
The salary range for this full-time, in-person, benefits-eligible position is $35,000 to $50,250 annually, with access to comprehensive benefits.
