This remote position primarily focuses on adjusting bodily injury claims as well as uninsured and underinsured motorist claims. The ideal candidate should also be proficient in handling collision, comprehensive, property damage, and personal injury protection claims.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough investigations, evaluations, negotiations, and settlements of private passenger auto insurance claims from the initial report to resolution.
  • Establish initial reserves and adjust them as more information becomes available.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations, policy provisions, and company standards at all times.
  • Interpret policy language in accordance with applicable statutes to determine coverage eligibility.
  • Verify and clarify coverages, conduct liability investigations, and communicate liability decisions to customers.
  • Request police reports, take recorded statements, and review medical documentation as necessary for accurate claim evaluations.
  • Set clear expectations regarding the claims process and keep insured parties or claimants updated on claim status.
  • Assess all damages to determine the appropriate compensation amount for the insurance company.
  • Manage and facilitate payments for repairs, rentals, towing, total losses, and negotiate storage fees.
  • Maintain a detailed and consistent diary to accurately document correspondence and systematically resolve claims within state compliance guidelines.
  • Evaluate all information and identify any coverage issues, potential fraud, or other concerns.
  • Negotiate settlements and authorize payments as required.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel on claims when necessary.
  • Meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as directed by management.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience adjusting private passenger auto bodily injury and UM/UIM claims in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work remotely and meet work-from-home requirements.
  • A strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to explain complex issues clearly to customers.
  • Demonstrated empathy, adaptability, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage emotional customer situations effectively and recognize when escalation is necessary.
  • Punctual and responsible regarding work hours, with appropriate arrangements for time off.
  • Familiarity with various insurance databases (ISO/Verisk) and compliance reporting (OFAC, Medicare).
  • Basic typing and computer skills, including knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  • Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish) are a plus.
  • Experience with the FileHandler claims system is advantageous.
