Position Summary:

We are seeking a New York State Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) with experience in NYCDOB and Micropiles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct building inspections to ensure compliance with codes, identifying violations, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Supervise and perform materials and structural component tests to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Manage engineering projects by organizing and controlling various project elements.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop inspection schedules by reviewing permits, plans, and specifications; estimating travel and inspection times; coordinating site visits.
  • Assess compliance with codes through inspections of ongoing and completed work, including Geotechnical, Civil, and Structural aspects.
  • Document progress and violations to maintain compliance records.
  • Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to organizational standards and legal regulations.
  • Stay updated on new standards and participate in educational opportunities to enhance job knowledge.
  • Implement corrective actions for non-compliance and ensure all inspection reports are properly documented.
  • Conduct failure tests to determine material durability and recommend improvements based on analytical findings.
  • Enhance quality results by adhering to ISO 17020 and 17025 standards.
  • Provide technical assistance to clients and contribute to team efforts as needed.
  • Manage project responsibilities by identifying phases and elements, assigning personnel, and reviewing contractor bids.
  • Prepare project specifications by analyzing product designs and customer requirements.
  • Monitor project schedules and control costs by reviewing design changes and approving expenditures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information obtained during inspections and protect proprietary rights.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering (Required)
  • Professional Engineering License registered in New York (Required)
  • In-depth knowledge of NYC Building Codes (Required)

Compensation:

Compensation is based on experience in a similar role and includes a comprehensive benefits package. This position is full-time and exempt.

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed
