Position Summary:
We are seeking a New York State licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) with experience in NYCDOB and Micropiles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct building inspections to ensure compliance with codes; identify violations and recommend corrective actions.
- Supervise and perform tests on materials and structural components to ensure quality and safety; prepare detailed reports on findings.
- Manage engineering projects by organizing and overseeing various project elements.
Essential Duties:
- Develop inspection schedules by reviewing permits, plans, and specifications; estimate travel and inspection times; coordinate site visits.
- Verify compliance with codes through inspections of ongoing and completed work, including Geotechnical, Civil, and Structural projects.
- Issue notices for corrections and interpret codes to ensure adherence to regulations.
- Document compliance progress and violations accurately.
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to organizational standards and legal requirements.
- Stay updated on new standards and participate in educational opportunities, trade shows, and conferences.
- Enhance the reputation of the department and organization by accepting ownership of new and diverse requests.
- Implement corrective actions for non-conforming work or deviations from quality policies.
- Conduct failure tests to determine material durability and analyze results.
- Recommend improvements to materials, products, and processes based on analytical findings.
- Assist clients by addressing technical inquiries and responding to requests.
- Contribute to team objectives by achieving related results as necessary.
- Identify project phases and responsibilities; assign personnel accordingly.
- Prepare project specifications by studying product designs and customer requirements.
- Monitor project schedules and resolve any issues that arise.
- Control project costs by managing expenditures and contractor contracts.
- Prepare status reports by collecting and analyzing project data.
- Ensure confidentiality of information obtained during inspections.
- Review and approve technical content of purchase orders.
- Document sampling plans and procedures to prevent damage to inspection items.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering (Required).
- Professional Engineering License registered in New York (Required).
- In-depth knowledge of NYC Building Codes (Required).

Compensation is based on experience in a similar role and includes a comprehensive benefits package. This is a full-time, exempt salaried position.
