Position Summary:

We are seeking a New York State licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) with experience in NYCDOB and Micropiles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct building inspections to ensure compliance with codes, identifying violations, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Supervise and perform tests on materials and structural components to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
  • Manage engineering projects by organizing and overseeing various project elements.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop inspection schedules by reviewing permits, plans, and specifications; estimating travel and inspection times; coordinating site visits.
  • Assess compliance with codes through inspections of ongoing and completed work, including Geotechnical, Civil, and Structural aspects.
  • Document progress and violations to maintain compliance records.
  • Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to organizational standards and legal regulations.
  • Stay updated on new standards and participate in educational opportunities to enhance job knowledge.
  • Contribute to the organization’s reputation by accepting ownership of new requests and exploring ways to add value.
  • Implement corrective actions for non-compliance with quality policies and procedures.
  • Conduct failure tests to determine material durability and analyze findings.
  • Enhance materials and processes by recommending changes based on analytical results.
  • Assist clients by addressing technical inquiries and providing necessary support.
  • Coordinate project responsibilities by identifying phases and elements, assigning personnel, and reviewing contractor bids.
  • Prepare project specifications by analyzing product design and customer requirements.
  • Monitor project schedules and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Control project costs by managing expenditures and contractor contracts.
  • Prepare project status reports by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Ensure confidentiality of information obtained during inspections and protect proprietary rights.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering (Required)
  • Professional Engineering License registered in New York (Required)
  • Knowledge of NYC Building Codes (Required)

Compensation:

Compensation is based on experience in a similar role and includes a comprehensive benefits package. This position is full-time and exempt.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed
