Position Summary
Trexis Insurance is seeking a dedicated full-time Auto Liability Claims Specialist. This role is designed for an experienced professional who will investigate, assess, negotiate, and resolve moderate to complex auto claims with significant exposures while working with minimal oversight. Key responsibilities include thorough investigations, determining coverage, liability, and damages, as well as establishing appropriate reserves. The Auto Liability Claims Specialist is responsible for setting customer expectations, communicating investigation timelines, and clarifying relevant laws and coverages.
Key Responsibilities
  • Interprets personal auto policy language and accurately analyzes coverage and liability for the relevant jurisdictions.
  • Obtains detailed factual recorded statements from insured parties, claimants, and witnesses.
  • Documents the claim file with comprehensive notes, evaluations, and decision-making processes.
  • Secures and reviews medical documentation to evaluate, negotiate, and resolve Bodily Injury claims with claimants and/or their representatives.
  • Maintains appropriate loss reserves.
  • Manages diaries effectively to ensure timely resolution of claims.
  • Recognizes and assigns claims to the Special Investigations Unit as necessary.
  • Meets or exceeds established file quality standards.
  • Surpasses customer expectations consistently.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in a professional manner.
  • Ability to make independent claims handling decisions on assigned cases.
  • Strong adherence to ethical business practices.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Consistent attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Strong reasoning, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong keyboarding and data entry skills.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience handling third-party Bodily Injury claims.
Work Schedule:
  • 8-hour shifts
  • Daytime hours
  • Monday to Friday
  • Hybrid work options available.
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
  • 2 years of experience in third-party Bodily Injury claims handling (Required)
