Job Summary

The University of Idaho is seeking a highly qualified tenure-track assistant professor in the Department of Psychology and Communication. This is an exciting opportunity for a scholar to join our faculty and contribute to the growth and development of our students and research programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a range of undergraduate courses in communication, including research methods, interpersonal communication, small group communication, persuasion, communication theory, and upper-division electives in the candidate's area of expertise.
  • Develop and maintain a research program that informs and advances our understanding of human communication.
  • Participate in department service and mentor students.
Requirements
  • PhD in Communication or Communication Studies.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate courses.
  • Experience teaching in both in-person and online formats.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience seeking or obtaining external funding.
  • Experience with mentoring undergraduate students.
  • Ability to conduct and publish independent and collaborative research.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff in the department and across campus.
  • Experience with academic program assessment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
