Job Summary
The University of Idaho is seeking a highly qualified instructor or senior instructor to join our Department of Biological Sciences. This is a nine-month, non-tenure track faculty position that involves teaching undergraduate level lecture and laboratory courses in biochemistry, microbiology, or related topics.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and teach courses in biochemistry, microbiology, or related topics
- Supervise graduate teaching assistants and hold office hours
- Participate in departmental faculty meetings and outreach activities
- Seek professional development opportunities
Qualifications
- M.S. degree in Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related field from an accredited institution
- Experience teaching and communicating verbally and in writing
- For Rank of Senior Instructor: at least 3 years experience teaching biochemistry, microbiology, or similar courses at the college level, and experience developing course plans and materials
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. or equivalent in Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related field
- Experience using computer software for course management or data management and analysis
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching by student and/or supervisor evaluation
- Prior participation in career development opportunities that support teaching excellence
