Job Summary

The University of Idaho is seeking a highly qualified instructor or senior instructor to join our Department of Biological Sciences. This is a nine-month, non-tenure track faculty position that involves teaching undergraduate level lecture and laboratory courses in biochemistry, microbiology, or related topics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and teach courses in biochemistry, microbiology, or related topics
  • Supervise graduate teaching assistants and hold office hours
  • Participate in departmental faculty meetings and outreach activities

Qualifications

  • M.S. degree in Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related field from an accredited institution
  • Experience teaching and communicating verbally and in writing
  • For Rank of Senior Instructor: at least 3 years experience teaching biochemistry, microbiology, or similar courses at the college level, and experience developing course plans and materials

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or equivalent in Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related field
  • Experience using computer software for course management or data management and analysis
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching by student and/or supervisor evaluation
  • Prior participation in career development opportunities that support teaching excellence
