Position Overview:
The main objective of this role is to oversee the functions within the credit and collections division. This includes managing the processing of payments, collections, deductions, and the verification of credit term applications. Additionally, this position is responsible for the New Account Setup Process, as well as the closure of accounts, third-party collections, and bankruptcy proceedings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership:
- Directs the operations of the credit and collections team.
- Mentors and develops team leads and specialists in credit and collections.
- Supervises collection processes, including third-party collections and bankruptcy management.
- Policy Development:
- Establishes and recommends policies and procedures for credit and collections at a regional level.
- Evaluates credit risks, reviews credit histories, and advises on credit limit adjustments.
- Acts as a subject matter expert on state-specific credit regulations.
- Additional Duties: Other responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in credit and collections.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and various computer applications, including presentation software.
- Demonstrates strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on diplomacy and customer service.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently or collaboratively, maintain attention to detail, and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
- Utilizes sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Basic knowledge of credit regulations in relevant states.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Favorable personal credit history.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone.
Competencies:
- Accountable for results that impact departmental performance.
- Chooses the best options from established procedures and solutions based on common sense and prior experience.
