Job Description

Sterling Engineering Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for compiling financial information and reports for management use, ensuring compliance with all accounting principles and government regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process sales orders, including completeness review, material consumption, and sales tax application.
  • Input new job orders into our ERP system.
  • Process and input transactions into our ERP system.
  • Maintain accounts receivable records, including customer files and sales tax resale/exemption forms.
  • Perform credit checks on new customers.
  • Responsible for customer collections.
  • Interact with customers and other departments to resolve questions and problems.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, investigate discrepancies, and make corrections as necessary.
  • Perform month-end closing duties, including account reconciliations, preparation of journal entries, and report preparation.
  • Prepare monthly sales tax returns.
  • Compile and prepare job cost and hours reports.
  • Perform special projects at the direction of the controller.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience, or recent graduate willing to consider.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with ERP system.
