We are currently seeking a Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships to become an integral part of our dynamic team, collaborating closely with our executive leadership. This role is based at our corporate headquarters and offers opportunities for interaction with colleagues across various locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue licensing and collaboration prospects that align with Cytokinetics' strategic objectives and pipeline initiatives.
  • Steer the negotiation process and decision-making, including crafting and delivering compelling presentations to senior leadership and critical stakeholders.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in deal assessments and due diligence, constructing the business rationale, recommending deal structures, and negotiating term sheets and definitive agreements.
  • Engage in travel as necessary for meetings, conferences, and networking opportunities.
  • Provide training, coaching, and mentorship to colleagues within Business Development, Alliance Management, and External Innovation on opportunity evaluation, negotiation, and deal execution.
Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (e.g., M.B.A., Ph.D.) with a relevant technical background preferred, accompanied by 12+ years of experience in biopharmaceutical business development or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successful negotiations leading to completed deals, including regional rights agreements and late-stage clinical/commercial programs, ideally with a network in specialty cardiology.
  • Ability to distill complex concepts into clear, actionable insights and demonstrate quick thinking.
  • Exceptional analytical skills for opportunity identification and evaluation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities; multilingual skills are advantageous.
  • Demonstrated creativity, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of business development practices and industry trends.
  • Proven capability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment across diverse disciplines.
  • Positive demeanor, meticulous attention to detail, and refined presentation skills are essential.
