Position Overview:
The Laboratory Technician is a pivotal member of our team, responsible for executing a diverse range of laboratory functions. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in biological sciences, along with a minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience, particularly in bacterial culturing and/or Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). This role demands a proactive individual with exceptional attention to detail and the capability to operate independently within the laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Laboratory Operations: Conduct both routine and specialized laboratory procedures.
- Equipment Management: Prepare and maintain laboratory instruments, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Protocol Adherence: Follow established protocols and procedures with precision and efficiency.
Data Management:
- Accurately record data, maintaining comprehensive laboratory documentation.
Sample Handling:
- Prepare, store, and dispose of laboratory samples in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Maintain an organized inventory of laboratory supplies, placing orders as necessary.
- Ensure all samples are appropriately labeled and stored for efficient retrieval and analysis.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all laboratory safety protocols, fostering a secure working environment.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and institutional guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or a related discipline.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a laboratory setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in bacterial culturing and/or Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional meticulousness and accuracy in all tasks.
- Self-Starter: Capability to work autonomously and take initiative in laboratory tasks.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Time Management: Excellent organizational and time management skills.
