Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Chief Estimator to oversee the estimation process for electrical systems at our Edison facility. This role is crucial for developing precise estimates for electrical power, lighting, and low voltage systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medium voltage substations and distribution, particularly within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, and data center industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed estimates for electrical systems, encompassing both material and labor costs.
  • Source pricing from suppliers for specialized materials and equipment.
  • Conduct thorough estimate reviews to ensure compliance with contract specifications and industry standards.
  • Lead and mentor a team of estimators to boost efficiency and output.
  • Negotiate subcontractor proposals and verify cost accuracy.
  • Engage in contract scope modifications and maintain client relationships.
  • Assist in initiatives for sales growth and project initiation meetings.
  • Collaborate effectively with project management and other stakeholders.
  • Occasionally travel to project sites as needed.
  • Maintain regular on-site presence.
Qualifications:
  • At least 10 years of experience in estimating for commercial electrical projects.
  • Strong understanding of electrical power, lighting, and medium voltage systems.
  • Excellent project management capabilities and multitasking skills.
  • Familiarity with ConEst estimating software is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and possess strong communication skills.
Work Environment:

This position may require extended periods of computer work and occasional travel to construction sites. Site visits may involve exposure to varying environmental conditions, including weather, machinery, chemicals, and noise.
