We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Electrical Engineer to contribute to our Humanitarian Demining and Research Development Program. This role is essential in the creation and execution of sophisticated electrical systems and technologies aimed at improving our demining efforts.

Program Overview:
The Humanitarian Demining and Research Development Program (HDRDP) is a pivotal initiative within our organization, committed to the advancement and deployment of state-of-the-art technologies for the detection and neutralization of landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO). Our goal is to foster global safety by delivering innovative solutions that support humanitarian demining activities, mitigating the risks posed by explosive hazards to civilians, and promoting safe development in affected regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Engineer electrical systems and components for cutting-edge demining technologies, including sensors, robotics, and communication systems.
  • Research and Innovation: Engage in research to discover and integrate new technologies and methodologies that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of mine and UXO detection.
  • Testing and Evaluation: Conduct thorough testing and evaluation of electrical systems to guarantee reliability and performance in diverse and challenging environments.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers, and field experts, to create integrated solutions for humanitarian demining.
  • Field Support: Offer technical support and expertise during field deployments to ensure the successful implementation and operation of demining technologies.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Generate comprehensive technical reports, documentation, and presentations to communicate findings, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

Experience:

  • 3-10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and development of electrical systems, particularly in the context of sensors and robotics.
  • Familiarity with demining technologies or similar applications is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, and experience with hardware description languages (HDLs) like VHDL or Verilog.
  • Knowledge of signal processing, circuit design, and embedded systems.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel for field deployments and collaborations as needed.

The Countermine Division has been a leader in developing explosive hazard sensing systems for over 40 years. Our expertise includes rapid prototyping, technical maturation, and field support for a wide range of sensing technologies. We are dedicated to advancing the state-of-the-art in demining and UXO detection to enhance safety and security globally.

Work Schedule:
Currently, personnel are typically on-site approximately three days a week, mission-dependent.
