Leap29 is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to assist a leader in the development and implementation of renewable energy systems. The ideal candidate will have specialized expertise in energy storage, solar power, and electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions at the commercial and industrial (C&I) scale.

This role requires a blend of technical expertise, creative design, and regulatory knowledge to ensure the successful deployment of C&I renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Lead and execute electrical design, analysis, and optimization for various large-scale renewable energy projects, including solar PV systems, battery storage, and EV charging infrastructure tailored to commercial and industrial applications.
  • Permitting and Compliance: Manage the entire permitting process, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Work closely with regulatory bodies to facilitate approvals and ensure all systems adhere to the highest standards of safety and efficiency for large-scale installations.
  • Project Management: Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and external contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical systems at a commercial and industrial scale.
  • Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide ongoing technical support for operational systems, troubleshoot complex issues, and optimize system performance to achieve maximum efficiency and reliability in C&I applications.
  • Product Innovation: Collaborate with product development teams to design and test new electrical products and technologies that enhance the scalability and integration of renewable energy solutions in commercial and industrial settings.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the sales, marketing, and customer service teams to provide technical expertise and support for business development activities and customer queries, focusing on C&I clients.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including design drawings, risk assessments, and performance reports. Maintain accurate records for all engineering tasks and projects at the C&I scale.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of professional engineering experience, with a strong focus on renewable energy technologies and C&I applications.
  • Proficient in the design, analysis, and management of large-scale solar energy systems, battery storage, and EV charging stations.
  • Deep understanding of electrical codes, standards, and permitting processes related to large-scale renewable energy projects.
  • Experience with electrical simulation and design software such as AutoCAD, MATLAB, or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale projects from concept through completion.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
