Pulmonary and Medical IMC Nurse Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Pulmonary and Medical Intermediate Care (IMC) unit at University Hospital. As a Pulmonary and Medical IMC Nurse, you will provide comprehensive and specialized nursing care to acutely ill adult patients with multiple comorbidities and hemodynamic instability.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care to patients with a variety of medical diagnoses, including cystic fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, and post-lung transplant.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote smooth transitions amongst levels of care.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Monitor and manage patient vital signs, medications, and treatments.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
Requirements:
  • Current RN licensure in the State of WI or compact state.
  • Minimum 6 months of nursing experience or current participant in UW Health's Nurse Residency Program.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant RN experience.
  • Medical-Surgical or Progressive Care Nursing certification.
